Older Americans Month

Each year the members of Mercy Endeavors Senior Center are the highlight of our Senior Appreciation Tea as they walk the red carpet for our hat show/competition.  In keeping with this year’s theme – “Older Americans: Connecting the Community”, we were blessed to have community leaders, Janie Blackmon of Neighborhood Housing Services, LaQuann Fields of New Orleans, Counsel on Aging, Eileen Lumar Johnson of Audubon Institute, and Cheryl Russell of Community of Faith for Economic Empowerment, serve as judges for the hat contest.  Due to the overwhelming support of our network of sponsors every participant received a prize.  Dennis Hill provided musical entertainment as our guest sipped tea and enjoyed refreshments served with loving kindness by our volunteers and Board of Directors.
